The speedo works and most of the gauges but the gas gauge and temp gauge come and go, probably a ground etc.it retains the original black bucket interior. i am guessing it was repainted in the 80', looks good now with the minor blemish here and there. I was told that they put in a 69 340 they had there at grand spaulding ready to go with the GSS tri power stuff to replace the factory 340 4 barrel. i was told it was originally built to sell wholesale for a dealer ( who wanted the 6 pack 340 in a 72 demon body and not the supercharger) who special ordered it. a personal note from Mr Norm to me, lots of stuff. I have the original broadcast build sheet, the original window sticker from Grand Spaulding when it was sold new, tons of documentation including the past owners title copies (I have all except the original guy/dealer who bought it, mileage records from each guy who had it etc etc. All of the correct 6 pack parts norms sold for his gss package. The engine compartment and the undercarriage look clean, but both appear to have gotten the black spray paint treatment. This car has an 8 3/4-inch rear end and 3.23 gearing. That’s enough to light up the tires easily as these cars were quite light in the rear. This car came from the factory with an automatic transmission but it has been converted to a 4-speed manual. White upholstery is out of fashion today, but wasn’t uncommon in the 1960s and ‘70s - even on muscle cars. The interior looks quite clean and the seats, door panels and dash pad appear to be in good condition. The color and stripe treatment on this car are factory correct according to the original build sheet and data plate. Though Dodge sold 10,098 Demon 340s in 1971, they aren’t common today and the seller says the black cars are rare. The Demon was virtually identical to the Plymouth Duster except for the grille and taillights.
